Pushwater Systems Extend Heavy Oil Collection

As fields expand, producers are looking at different ways of transporting the fluid to existing facilities, rather than building new facilities. Integra has been involved in innovative systems involving the use of pushwater to assist the flow of heavy oil up to distances of 6 to 12 kilometers.

• Water Disposal / Injection Systems
• Flowlines including polyethylene, bare or lined steel and fiberglass 
• Field Metering Headers

An example of a multi-phase emulsion gathering system project which entailed a 6.5 km dual pipeline system consisting of 6” and 8” internally lines flowlines, the lines were designed to run in parallel or in series with pushwater. The Saskatchewan Research Council assisted with funding of this project. The second part of this project involved a 6 km extension that consisted of twin 8” internally lined flowlines.
