Heavy Oil Engineering Tools Maintain Design Integrity
Integra Engineering Ltd. has designed both sweet and sour heavy oil batteries. In both battery designs two options are available to clients:
- Pressurized Treating Facility – favored for higher design capacities where higher temperature are required.
- Conventional Atmospheric Treating Facility – offer a more cost effective solution for lower design rates if higher temperatures are not required.

In most of our facility design, our preference has been to provide shop-built modular packages, which are considered to be more cost effective than similar site-erected facilities. These packages are portable, offer better quality control, and have little impact on our environment. Because of our standard sealed skid floor design, and standard piping design, which is kept above ground wherever possible.
Integra has completed numerous heavy oil pad tie-ins ranging from four to twelve well pads with above ground piping. Modular design and accurate drawings allow for a quick turnaround, which minimizes the time to bring new production online.

Integra designed and built this sour oil battery for 500 m3/day (3100 bbls/day) of oil and 7000 m3/day (44,000 bbls/day) of water. It was a modular design, which housed a state of the art electronic control system. 90% of the facility was built locally.
